Let your portraits reflect your unique personality and sense of style. Dresses or tops that are sleeveless or have spaghetti straps are beautiful, but they do NOT photograph well. Instead, wear clothes that are well fitted, tops with sleeves and are brightly colored with minimal patterns.
#2 ACCESSORIZE
Add a touch of sparkle and shine with accessories that compliment or complete an outfit. Pieces like necklaces, bracelets, rings, belts, hats, and earrings can pull an outfit together and add a special pizazz!
#3 LAYER IT UP
Layering is an easy way to accomplish a variety of different looks during your session, When you add a simple scarf, a jacket or a cardigan, your portraits can go from simple to WOW in just seconds!
#4 MIX IT UP
What’s your style? Boho chic? Preppy? Casual? Knowing what style represents you and dressing accordingly will allow your portraits to stand out from the rest. You also want your photos to be a timeless memento that is passed down to your children, so resist the urge to pick clothing pieces that are too trendy. You don’t want to look back at your portraits in 10 years and say, “What was I thinking?”
#5 FINISHING TOUCHES
You may not realize it, but hair, make-up and nails play just as an important role in your portraits as your outfits. For nails, make sure they look nice, so why not treat yourself to a mani-pedi! You will want to be the best YOU possible, so consider having your make-up and/or hair done by a professional stylist. Eye, cheek or lip color can make the difference between a good photo and a GREAT photo. This can be done a few hours before your scheduled session time. Need some recommendations? Just ask.
